It looks like we’ll get a break from the weather this Saturday, so make plans to take advantage of it. The water in the Indian River has been very clear, and Seatrout numbers have been better than they’ve been in several years. Spoil islands and shorelines have been productive on soft plastics and shrimp. Redfish numbers seem slightly up, but still scarce overall. Snook are also plentiful, but colder water temps have made them pretty lethargic. There’s still Spanish Mackerel around the inlets, as well as Bluefish, with both taking spoons as well as anything. Surf fishing remains tough with the east winds, but those shift over the weekend. Monday brings some more cold weather, which will likely move some fish around. Stock up on some Simms warm clothing, plenty of use this year. Good luck out there.
