Weather has been less than ideal, but fishing has been pretty good despite the conditions. Spanish Mackerel have been up and down the beach, particularly in the Cove in Vero and around the inlets, along with some decent Bluefish. Pompano fishing has been good when the conditions have cooperated with some clean water, mostly on sand fleas. There have been a fair number of Snook caught in the inlets during closed season, along with some Tarpon at night to test your tackle. Offshore, Sailfish have been active to the north in 150′ of water on live bait, and Kingfish have been prevalent in 80′ of water as well. There have also been scattered Dolphin deeper and some Blackfin Tuna near Bethel Shoals. Inshore, Seatrout continue to shine, with fish as large as 30″ being caught lately. Spoil islands and shorelines have been the best, particularly south of Round Island. Redfish numbers also seem to be better than the last few years. Snook are also around, but the cold has made them a bit sluggish. Good luck out there.
