The mullet run along the beaches and in the IRL has definitely started, with Snook, Tarpon, Jack Crevalle, sharks, and others taking advantage. Both finger mullet and larger Silver Mullet have been around, so be prepared to imitate both. The new NLBN K Tails in 5″ and 7″ do a pretty good job, as do Hogy Paddle Tails. Inshore your best bets include Zara Spooks, 5″ K Tails, 4″Mini Mullets, and Z Man Mulletrons. Redfish numbers seem to be better in the IRL than the last few years, and Seatrout numbers are up as well. With seagrass returning to much of the river things should perk up when the temps drop a bit. Right now it’s an early bite only for the Seatrout. Offshore anglers are catching solid numbers of Kingfish in 70′ to 80′ of water, mostly on live greenies. Inlet Sook fishing has been good, with season opening Sunday. Night time fishing with jigs and paddle tails has been most productive. Good luck out there.
