With full on Summer upon us, we’re starting to get more Snook showing up on the beaches (season is now closed). Weed is still a bit of an issue, but bait is becoming more prevalent, with pilchards being most common. Paddle tail soft plastics, bucktail jigs, and flies have all been effective. Snook and Tarpon have been active in the inlets, taking jigs and live bait pretty well. Offshore, the Kingfish and Dolphin have both been active in the 120′ range, with live greenies being the best bet. Inshore, Tarpon are showing up in stronger numbers, from the smaller fish in back bays, to some larger fish taking up residence in some of the deeper basins. Snook are also still around in decent numbers, but some of the trophy fish have moved outward. Good luck out there.
