Well the forecast wasn’t exactly correct for the weekend. It was a little sloppy both days but fish-able at least. Trolling was very SLOW for most this weekend. There were some dolphin caught here and there but nothing great. From what I heard the bottom fishing was pretty poor on Saturday. We bottom fished yesterday and had a pretty decent day. We fished the 27 fathom area and caught 4 or 5 amber jacks, six scamps, and probably fifteen genuines although most of the genuines were throw backs. All in all a fun day with plenty of action. Half the fish were caught on butterfly jigs and half on squid.
Inshore fishing has been good for many. I heard a nice sized school of redfish was spotted on the Moorings flat North of Round Island. I just got off the phone with Jimmy Gornto and he said he caught a trout around 11-12 #’s last night. He also caught a keeper snook and a few others. All were caught on a Sabile Plug North of North Bridge.
It looks like its going to be pretty windy today and tomorrow but nice the latter part of the week. I talked to a friend up in the Cape and they have been catching some nice yellowfins up there way so it won’t be long until the corner fishing fires off! Have a great day!
