Some calmer west winds have arrived, giving surf and offshore anglers some better conditions, and hopefully some good fishing. Offshore, there’s been Dolphin in 120′ of water, and the Kingfish bite in 70′ to 80′ of water has been good on greenies. In the surf, there has been some mullet moving in smaller schools, as well as greenies. Hopefully the west winds will rid us of the weeds on the beach. Bluefish, Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, Snook, sharks, and even a few Tarpon have been caught, with plenty of activity early. Pompano are starting to show as well, with decent catches from the Cove down to Round Island the last few days. Inshore, still plenty of mullet around, much to the delight of Snook, Seatrout, baby Tarpon, and Redfish. Find the bait, and you’re likely to find the fish. The inlets have produced decent numbers of Snook, as well as good numbers of Redfish. Tarpon have also been active at night. Live mullet and flare jigs have been the best bet. Good luck out there.
