Good morning everyone. We’ve got some calmer conditions for a while, and fishing in the Indian River has held up well. Our Fly Slam Tournament over the weekend yielded good fishing, with Capt. Tyler Treece and Carter Andrews taking top honors, catching the only slam of the tournament. Capt. Eric Davis and Charlie Johnson were close behind in second, and Andrew Palau and Jackie Metz took home third. A number of nice Snook were caught, including the largest fish, a 40 inch fish by Kent Krebeck, fishing with Capt. Sam Atwell. Congrats to all. Seatrout were the hardest to come by, as expected. Surf anglers have been catching some Bluefish and Jack Crevalle, but seaweed has been an issue. Hopefully the west winds coming over the weekend will rid us of that. Offshore, Dolphin fishing has been quite good in the 120′ to 150′ range, with good numbers as well as some big fish, some as large as 50 lbs. The St. Lucie Chamber of Commerce Fishing Frenzy tournament is this Saturday, May 7th thru the 13th. Must register by May 6th, register online at www.StLucieChamber.org . Captains meeting is Friday. Snook fishing in Fort Pierce Inlet has been good, particularly for live baiters during the day. Good luck out there.
