Good morning everyone. Cooler temps have led to much cleaner water in the Indian River, and the next several days look to provide enough sun for some good sight fishing opportunities. Redfish numbers have continued to rise, and some good opportunities for quality Seatrout are also out there. Snook have been rather lethargic due to the colder water, but hopefully with warming temps will turn on. Soft plastics such as DOA Cal paddle tails. Gulp shrimp, and ZMAN Razor Shad have all been effective, as has live bait. Pompano numbers have also increased inside, with goofy jigs accounting for most catches. Flats near the inlets and Wabasso Causeway have been good bets. Surf fishing hasn’t fully returned to normal yet, but some Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel have been caught, mostly on spoons. Snook fishing in the inlets has been so-so since the season opened up, likely due to the clearer, cold water, but Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel numbers have been solid. There have also been Tarpon around the mouths of the inlets on incoming water. Offshore, Sailfish numbers have finally improved, with most of the action in 120′ to 150′ of water on live bait. Good luck out there.
