Good morning everyone. Conditions haven’t been ideal of late, but opportunities are still out there. Offshore, Sailfish have been providing plenty of excitement, with the bulk of the fish holding between 80′ to 100′ of water. The Kingfish bite has been solid on numbers in the 70′ to 80′ of water range, with live bait working the best. The night time Mangrove Snapper bite has also been quite good, on live and dead bait. The inlets have been producing Snook for those practicing catch and release on jigs. The surf has been pretty difficult to fish, with a decent swell and weed showing up in many places. Inshore, the recent rains have begun to dirty things up a bit. But the good news is that while sight fishing has suffered a bit, outflows have produced some active fish, including Snook, baby Tarpon, and even a few Redfish. Jigs and soft plastics have produced the best, and darker colors seem to be producing better than light. Seatrout fishing early in the AM has also been good, but slows down as the heat rises. Topwater plugs have been effective early, giving way to soft plastics off the drop offs as the sun gets up a bit. Good luck out there.
