Good morning, yesterday the action for sailfish was good off Jupiter. 39 boats fished the Jupiter Billfish Tournament yesterday and racked up 250 sailfish releases. There are also points for white marlin and blue marlin releases, however none were reported yesterday. Bottom fishing off our coast remains steady for snapper, amberjack and grouper. Be sure to check the current regulations for open seasons at www.myfwc.com. Trolling off the Treasure Coast for dolphin, kingfish, wahoo has slowed sightly but there are reports of some taken in a wide spread of depths. 80'-150' seems to be where all the action has been on Wednesday and Thursday.
Inshore, bluefish and spanish mackerel remain in the spotlight at the south jetty and in the surf. Spoons, gotchas, and cut bait are providing most of the action. Pompano in the lagoon have been hitting Doc's goofy jigs and the new Buccaneer Wiggler lures. Jack crevalle have been scattered all over the lagoon and some are concentrated just south of the south bridge. Snook fishing last night was not as good as it was on Wednesday night and the fishing for trout and redfish remains strong. Sandperch, margate, snapper and sheepshead are around the bridges and the deeper water in the turning basin.
Have a great week end, Donald.
