Good morning, offshore fishing slowed a little over the last few days. There are still a few dolphin, kingfish, wahoo and sailfish around. Bottom fishing has been decent but you have to pick through the fish that are closed to find a few to keep. Reports of cobia have been on the increase and should only improve over the next couple of months. Cobia will take a chartreuse jig or the new Yo-Zuri Sashimi Squirt squid lure.
Inshore, bluefish and mackerel have been hitting spoons and gotchas along the beach and anglers were catching them off the south jetty this morning. Trout and redfish are both open to recreational catches. Be sure to check the web site www.myfwc.com for the new rule changes. There have been some sand perch taken from the catwalk of the south bridge and from the turning basin. Jack crevalle are roaming the lagoon and will bust just about anything you throw at them.
Have a great day, Donald.
