Good morning, a few boats slipped out of the Ft. Pierce inlet yesterday to find sailfish, dolphin, blackfin tuna and bonita. Hans Kraaz fishing aboard the boat Vintage reported a catch of 6 for 10 sailfish releases. The forecast for today looks a little better for offshore and a number of folks were in the shop yesterday for bally-hoo. Check back with us on Monday for their results. We are not getting any reports from the bottom fishing scene due to the high winds creating a rough sea condition.
Inshore, bluefish, snook and spanish mackerel can be found inside the Ft. Pierce inlet. Jigs and spoons will provide you with good results. Back in the lagoon anglers are finding redfish in skinny water in out of the wind places. Speaking about redfish I was told this week that the state of Florida has made 3 releases of juvenile redfish to repopulate the area. The fishing for trout and flounder has also been good in shallow water in places that provide safe haven from the wind.
Our shop is stocked with plenty of great gift ideas for the holidays. Stop in and have a look, I am sure you can find a stocking stuffer or 2. White's Tackle gift cards and t-shirts are always a pleasant surprise on Christmas morning.
Have a great week end, Donald.
