Good morning, Rusty Varn reported a catch of 3 dolphin and some kingfish yesterday on the offshore bar using live bait. Summer time conditions exist offshore which means you will have to search to find dolphin. Kingfish are more plentiful offshore than inshore and cobia are still around but few are between. There are those large summer time sailfish around and will take a trolled ballyhoo or live bait. We are hearing that the swordfish bite out of the St. Lucie inlet is beginning to heat up a bit in 1200 feet of water. The class of swordfish are on the smaller side with some frequent bites and catches.
Inshore, Richard Loupe reported catching a lot of trout in the lagoon the last few days. They were using a DOA Deadly Combo to snag the trout and told us that a great deal of them were throw backs. Mangrove snapper are along the channel edges and and have not populated the lagoon as we would expect just yet.
Have a good weekend, Kadri.
