Good morning, the reports from offshore were few and far between as many anglers stayed in port waiting for better news from offshore. Bottom fishing seems to be where all the action can be found. Bud and Debbie Dawson reported a catch of 4 amberjack and 1 grouper around 20 #. Dave Albritton and Ashley Coe won the Ft. Pierce police department’s trash can tournament on Saturday with an amberjack and 1 barracuda. Mike Burger reported a catch of a couple of dolphin in 150 feet on live bait.
Inshore, Bob Benton reported a catch of 10 trout around the Bear Point area, fishing a DOA Cal Minnow on the incoming tide. The afternoon rains are bringing a little relief to the hot water condition in the lagoon. As the summer rain becomes a more regular pattern you can expect more action for snook and mangrove snapper in the inlet and along the channel edges.
Have a good day, Kadri.
