Good morning, yesterday offshore anglers found some scattered dolphin, kingfish and a few cobia. The dolphin were not in any place specifically and we didn’t hear of any big ones. The kingfish were found in 55′-80′ and live bait got the job done. We are told that as of yesterday there is plenty of bait around on the beach and around the buoys. This might change temporarily however as we have a ground swell offshore today.
Inshore, the snook fishing remains very strong. Capt. Scott Crippen reported some good catch and release action on live bait yesterday. Trout fishing has been good for the last 10 days. Soft plastics and top water lures have been providing good results. Roland Mintz reported a catch and release of a 36" redfish on a DOA Cal Minnow around Merritt Island. Capt. Sam Crutchfield was in this morning and told us that yesterday on Lake Okeechobee fishing fly only, had what was the best bluegill fishing he has ever seen. Every cast at least got them a strike or a catch of a bluegill.
Have a great day, Donald.
