Good Morning!
Well I heard my first report from offshore last night. Taylor Hansen fished with some guys from Vero. He called me and asked me to guess the water temperature in 400 feet. I guessed low, but not low enough. It was 68 degrees! He said the trolling was slow, but the did have a hand full of amberjacks. The exciting thing on the radio was talk of a hump back whale that was being chased by a full grown mako shark. The whale had a calf with it, and conflicting reports have the mako trying to eat either the mother or baby whale.
The weather is looking good for some "corner trips". There are a few boats that went today, so hopefully we’ll have a good report on Monday of tunas and wahoo.
The inshore report remains the same. Bluefish and spanish on the beach, and redfish and trout on the flats. The beaches south of the inlet seem to be producing the most activity. Silver spoons and Gotcha plugs are catching to best. As for the flats report, the redfish that have been caught have all been up north towards Vero. Small schools of fish are moving around the shallow water looking to eat Berkley Gulp and Exude Darts. Stop by and see the new colors and check out the new jig heads to go with them.
Have a great weekend!
