I’m going to by by apologizing for my boring reports, however I’m not receiving any sort of reports except from my friends fishing the sailfish tournament. That being said, I need reports! If you guys are going fishing share it with us. If your not then you need to start! The pompano should be biting both on the beach and in the Indian River. The same goes for the bluefish, spanish mackerel, and jacks. Sea Trout are plentiful this time of year and no ones talking. We all know the sailfish are here, but so are the dolphin, wahoo, and blackfin tunas.
The sailfish were biting yesterday from the low 300 line to the 350 line on the reef out to 150 feet of water. All but two of the tournament boats participated in the action. The Sea Check captained by VJ Bell won, the daily award for most sails caught, with 13 sailfish. Next was Outlaw with 12 and Challenge with 11. I heard the bite was hot and heavy with doubles and triples being caught though out the day.
