Good morning,
I finally received a good report from offshore this morning. There are still a few dorados around! AJ Koontz caught five dolphins in 330′-370′ to the northeast of the Ft. Pierce Inlet. AJ said two of them were over thirty pounds and the other three were gaffers. He caught them trolling ballyhoos on top. I fished with my friend CJ yesterday. He is here from Tennessee and I thought we would fishing the beach and inlet for anything that would bend a rod. We found plenty of threadfins all over the beach in massive schools to the south, and caught nice sized sardines at the 10A buoy. We took that bait on a 20 mile trek up and down the beach in search of anything to throw them to. We found some nice schools of big jacks and had a ball chasing them down on light tackle. The water cooled for a little to 77 degrees. I was hoping to see some tarpon, but they never showed themselves.
I haven’t heard a report from any of our inshore friends, but the snook should be all over the flats near the inlet awaiting their time to spawn. I noticed alot of freshwater going out the inlet yesterday, so livebait and bright colored lures are probably your best bet.
Kadri combo-ed up some sale rods and reels this morning, so stop by if your looking for a great deal on a new outfit!
