Good morning,
I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. It sounds like I missed some pretty good fishing. Friday was the best day of the weekend for most. Almost everyone I spoke with had a GAGGLE of nice dolphin and saw at least a couple of sails (By the way a gaggle in Webster’s Dictionary is anything more than seven). Many folks had dolphin in the mid twenties and some had a couple in the thirties. I didn’t hear to much about bottom fishing although we did hear one report of a couple of nice cobia, one over fifty pounds.
On the inshore front, there was a great trout bite all weekend. The fish were pushed up into shallow water on dark bottom trying to warm up. Good news, they were hungry as well. T.J. Keifer caught plenty on jigs this weekend with a 3-5 pound average. The night time snook fishing has still been outstanding. There are a lot of over-sized fish around but they are always fun to catch. Flounder fishing around the inlet is hot. Gulp shrimp and 1/4-3/8 oz. jig heads are the best bet.
Have a great week!
