Good morning,
Business is picking up! We spoke with John Conlon yesterday. John went swordfishing night before last and went one for one on swords. On the way out they caught a limit of nice golden tilefish and while doing that caught several nice dolphins all in the twenty pound class. They had one bull show up that was over 40 pounds but couldn’t get a bait to him in time. Mark Malizia and Jimmy Gornto were swording as well and had pretty decent action. They hooked one fish right out of the gate that they lost near the boat. They had several other bites but nothing to bring home. The bottom fishing has still been hot with some hefty grey groupers being captured. There are still some decent mutton snappers in the vicinity of the reef and also some decent genuines.
Inshore, is much improved! The water is looking good to the South and starting to clean up to the North. There have been some nice schools of mullet pushing through with predators following. Captain Jimmy Gornto caught several nice snook after work yesterday evening on a Sebille plug. One fish was way oversized, close to twenty pounds, and the other was a nice slot fish. There have been some stout redfish around although most are too long to way for next weekends tournament.
Have a great weekend and get fishing!!!
