Snapper, snapper, and more snapper. That is the game tonight. The mangroves have moved in and the big spawners are lurking on the full moon. Clay Cordray caught a mangrove in the inlet yesterday that was 14 pounds. We heard of another caught yesterday by Harbor Branch that was over 12 pounds. The swordfishing has been great all week. The crew of the Hotty Toddy caught 5 out of 7 swords on Wednesday night and 2 out of 5 Thursday night. We are going to give it a try tonight so we will keep you posted. There were some sardines at the buoys yesterday and there are still plenty of kayaks on the beach.
Inshore, Monty Peters and Tony Vercillo had 6 or 7 redfish yesterday that were all upper slot or over-sized. There are some nice schools of fish in our area so go give it a try. The snook fishing has still been great. There are some nice fish on most mangrove shorelines for those of you plug casters, and some great fish in the inlet. I heard of a few more trout over 8 pounds this week but no substantial numbers.
Have a great weekend!
