The beach fishing is still hot. Bob Fox called in yesterday morning after he fished South Beach and reported a strong kingfish bite. Bob said most of the fish were in the 12-15 pound range with the largest near 30 pounds. It sounds like you couldn’t keep a bait in the water. There is still a bunch of bait up and down the beach.
I spoke with Jimmy Gornto this morning. Jim and Charlie Jones fished yesterday evening inshore and had some great fish. They had one nice trout in the 10 pound range and an upper slot snook that would have been a perfect keeper in September. There have been some small schools of finger mullet starting to come through as well as some nice silvers. Hopefully we will have a good run this year. Don’t forget to come by and register for our Tournament September 27th. The early entries end August 26th so you can save $25.00 plus the first 30 boats get a Shimano tackle bag with some goodies.
Have a good day!
