Good morning,
I don’t have much to report from the high seas locally except the bottom fishing is still really good. Both in the deep water and on the reef, snappers and groupers have been plentiful and willing to chew! The Butterfly jig has been hot. When the live baits haven’t been working it seems you can get a bite on the jig.
Scott called in last night from Mexico. He and a few of his friends are in Isla sailfishing on the Bone Shaker. Yesterday has their first day of fishing. They released 26 sails. I didn’t hear how many they saw, but the fishing had been really good.
The fishing in the river has been pretty good. There have been some nice trout caught on topwater the last couple of day, mostly in the afternoons after the water warms up. There are still a few redfish being seen on the west side of the river north of the inlet.
Have a good day!
Geoff
