Good morning,
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We were in Mexico sailfishing so we are trying to catch up with the reporting. It sounds like the bottom fishing has slowed due to heavy current on the bottom. The trolling has been pretty slow as well. There have been some decent sized dolphin caught although the numbers have been lower than weeks passed. The beach fishing has been pretty decent with spanish mackerel and some bluefish mixed in. I’m sure there are some decent kings mixed in with the bait and spanish. I heard of a few tilefish being caught the last few days although getting to the bottom was tough due to the fast moving current.
Inshore fishing seems to be good. There is a lot of bait in the river right now. Some LARGE trout have been caught in the last week or so. I heard of some more redfish being spotted on the inlet flats although they were tight lipped. Snook fishing remains pretty steady at night in the turning basin and both bridges. Again, most reports include over sized fish.
We had a great trip to Isla Mujeres. The last day we caught 50 sailfish, and had a total of 82 in three days. Thanks to Scott and Kyle on the Boneshaker for having us down. I will put some pictures in the offshore gallery this afternoon.
Have a great day!
