Hello everyone,
I do not have much of an offshore report today. I did hear of a few boats that bottom fished and caught several nice gag grouper and some decent amounts of snapper. There have also been decent amounts of yellow tails caught on the reef in 80 feet of water. That is nice to see in our area, I haven’t seen good numbers of yellow tails for quite some time. The guys that caught them down sized baits and used 2/0 hooks and silver sides. As far as trolling goes I haven’t heard much other than the weekends report. There are good amounts of bait on the beach and the buoys. We heard of some super sized thread fins and runners at the 10A and 12 buoy.
Inshore remains promising. There has been another little flurry of flounder in the inlet and some decent numbers of pompano in the river and on the beach. For some reason the redfish are hanging around this winter in decent numbers. There have still been some on the North Bridge flats, Round Island, Dead Mans cove, and on the Western Shores. Try Gulp or Exude Jerk baits and slow presentations. Exude Crabs work well when fish are lethargic as well. Fish them weedless right on the bottom with a subtle twitch when fish are close. There are plenty of over sized snook being caught at the bridges and turning basin at night on hawks. There is plenty of inshore action to be found so go give it a try. Don’t mind the wind burn it will go away overnight!
Good luck,
-Scott
