The sailfishing has finally picked up. The last two fishing days in the Billfish Derby were awesome to say the least. Congratulations to Glen Cameron on the Floridian for the win, Hanz Kraaz on the Vintage in second, and Pat Price on the Hottie Toddie in third. Pat had a great day the last day racking up 15 fish to come from behind and take third place. Today is the Pink Ladies tournament which was re-scheduled from last week due to weather. It sounds like we will have some good fishing and weather for the Pelican Yacht Club Tournament this week. Again, take plenty of bait if you fish this week. We had reports of some boats going through as many as a couple hundred ballyhoo a day from bonita, kingfish, and dolphin bites.
Inshore: We still haven’t received any great reports. Cold weather, wind and rain seemed to have kept most at home. Jeremy Gornto reported a decent redfish near Queens Cove and some others have been catching decent numbers of trout towards the power plant. Other than that we unfortunately haven’t heard much. We will keep you posted.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
