Good morning everyone,
Fishing was pretty good in the ocean yesterday. I received a report from the Stuart Light Tackle Club’s sailfish tournament of 51 sails released for 17 boats fishing on day one. The fish seemed to be in the same areas as last week, in 130′-200′. I am listening to the tournament on the VHF this morning, and it sounds like the fishing is going to remain good again today.
Inshore the fishing also remains good. In addition to the reports to the north, Bear Point has also been pretty good. Slot size redfish, lots of snook and big trout have been entertaining anglers down there for the last couple of days. Mirr O lures and DOA cal baits have been the preferred baits.
Check back tomorrow for a report of day two’s fishing in the Stuart Light tackle Tournament. If you can’t wait that long you can listen to VHF channel 10 for a real time update.
Thanks for checking in,
Geoff
