Happy Saturday,
I hope you are not reading this because that means you are missing out on a beautiful morning offshore. The first day of the Pirate’s Cove tournament was fished yesterday and the fishing improved a lot since last week. There were 59 sails released yesterday and the top boat the Hottie Toddie released 9. The Boneshaker and the Vintage were in second and third with 7 a piece. The fleet is out there again today to finish it off. There were large numbers of incidental dolphin caught as well, so those of you fun fishing should have a great weekend. I heard of two boats that went across yesterday to wahoo fish and had no bites. One did capture a pair of 40# dolphins however.
Inshore should be nice this weekend. There are decent numbers of pompano in the river and the flounder are still everywhere (especially in the inlet area). We heard of some decent snook catches the last two days and a couple hefty trout were released to the south (little mud area).
I hope you can make it out this weekend and capitalize on the great weather and good fishing. We are heading to North Carolina in the morning to Bluefin Tuna fish for a week so Geoff and Donald will take over the reports. I will send some pictures if we have any luck.
Have a great weekend!
