Summer is here in full force, with the temps to prove it. Surf anglers have enjoyed calm conditions, and those getting out early have enjoyed some catch and release Snook fishing for their troubles. Soft plastics, spoons, and topwater plugs have all accounted for fish of late. Offshore, Kingfish have been the best bet, in the 70′ to 80′ range on live greenies. There have been reports of a cold-water upwelling starting down in the Stuart area, which could spur some Cobia activity. The inlets have all had some good catch and release Snook and Redfish activity, as well as some nighttime Tarpon activity. Inshore, Snook remain the best bet, along with baby Tarpon. Relief canals, docks, and culverts have all been productive, with soft plastics working the best. Get out early and end early, as the mid-day heat is tough on you and the fish. Good luck out there.
