Snook fishing in the inlets continues to be productive, though the live baiters have had the upper hand of late. Still some Tarpon at the mouth of Fort Pierce Inlet as well on an outgoing tide. Sheepshead fishing in Fort Pierce has also been good of late, on shrimp or fiddler crabs. Inshore, big Snook on the flats has been the big draw. These big fish in shallow water are always tough, but can be the fish of a lifetime. Live bait always helps, but soft plastics and flies also produce if well presented. Seatrout numbers have also remained good around spoil islands and docks. Surf fishing seems to be picking up, with some Pompano catches being reported, as well as an uptick in Jack Crevalle and a smattering of Bluefish. Sand fleas or Fish Gum for the Pompano, or spoons and jigs for the others. Offshore has been a bit slow, but Kingfish along the reef in 70′ to 80′ of water has been the best bet, with live greenies working best. Good luck out there.
