Transition time is here, as fish begin to pattern differently as the weather begins to change. The beaches are seeing fewer Snook, but Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel appear in greater numbers. Jack Crevalle are also a common catch as well, Hopefully Pompano numbers will increase as the water settles a bit, and the best news has been sand fleas returning to the beach after a yearlong absence. Fort Pierce Inlet has had plenty of Tarpon activity at night, while Snook activity has been up and down. Look for the coming front to bolster both. Offshore, there’s been scattered Dolphin and Sailfish in the 120′ range, while water clarity has affected bottom fishing. Inshore, Seatrout fishing continues to rebound, with good numbers being caught around the channel edges on live shrimp and soft plastics, and some larger fish being caught along shorelines and docks as well. Redfish numbers also seem to be improved as well, along with still good numbers of Snook around outflows and docks. The water is still high overall, but the clarity is improving. Good luck out there.
