Good morning everyone. Calm conditions are finally here, and the seaweed seems to be dissipating. There are pockets of Pilchards and greenies scattered along the beaches, but no heavy concentrations. Snook have been caught early, and then seem to shut off once the heat rises and the sun gets bright. With the current moon phase they are likely feeding at night. Nearshore anglers are finding some Tapon sporadically, along with some larger Jack Crevalle. Inshore, Snook have been active early, including on top water plugs such as the Zara Spook and Skitter Walk, and on live bait during the day. Tarpon have been around the Turning Basin but haven’t been easy to coax a bite out of them. There is a cold-water upwelling going on now offshore that has pushed some Cobia in closer and will likely do the same with some bottom fish. Good luck out there.
