Good morning everyone. The recent calm weather has been a welcome boost to those fishing the surf and offshore. Pompano anglers have seen improved catches up and down the beaches, not in full swing, but at least decent. Sand fleas, clams, and FishGum have all been productive. Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish have also been prevalent, as have sharks. Spoons, metals, and even topwater plugs have all been productive. Good numbers of Spanish Mackerel have also been near shore, generally in the 20′ to 30′ range. Offshore, Sailfish, Dolphin, and even Wahoo have been caught of late in about 150′ of water, with Kingfish in close at 70′ to 80′. Fort Pierce Inlet has been yielding some larger Redfish, along with plenty of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. Inshore, Snook along the mangroves and on the flats still seems like the best bet, with some larger fish popping up on the flats of late. Soft plastics still seem to be the best bet. Redfish and Seatrout numbers are still a bit off, but there are still some being caught along the shorelines, mostly on live bait and soft plastics. Good luck out there and have a Happy New Year!
