Good morning everyone. Conditions have gotten hot and calm, finally a typical Florida pattern. Surf fishing has been on the rise, with calm conditions and bait beginning to show up along the beaches, leading to Snook, Spanish Mackerel, Ladyfish, and Jack Crevalle all being caught, as well as some Kingfish coming in close as well. Spoons, jigs, and shad tail soft plastics have all been effective, The inlets have been producing some catch and release Snook fishing and some Mangrove Snapper as well, but overall a bit slow. Offshore, the Kingfish bite in 70′ to 80′ of water has remained good, though a cold water upwelling to the south could have an effect. Mangrove Snapper have also been prevalent in 60′ of water, but could also be effected by the colder water south. Inshore, Snook on the flats and around docks have been active, mostly on soft plastics, but there has been an early morning top water bite as well. Redfish are being caught if you can find clear water, but that’s been a bit tough. Good luck out there.
