Good morning everyone. Fishing offshore has been pretty good, with good numbers of Kingfish along the reef in 70′ to 80′ of water, mostly taking greenies. Further off in 100′ to 150′ of water, Dolphin activity has also been quite good. In the surf, Snook numbers continue to increase along North Hutchison, while South Hutchison has quite a bit of turbid water due to sand dredging. Pompano numbers have slowed, but Spanish Mackerel numbers have been good. Fort Pierce Inlet has been producing good numbers of Snook at night , and loads of Jack Crevalle and Bluefish during the day. The Indian River has fished well for Snook and Seatrout, while Redfish numbers still seem down. Good numbers of quality Seatrout continue to be caught on live bait, soft plastics, and flies, as Dean Hardie proved during the White’s Tackle Fly Slam Tournament over the weekend, with a solid 28″ fish leading he and teammate Capt. Kevin Corr to the win. They edged out Kenny St. Cyr and teammate Steve Goethel, who captured a beautiful 32.5″ Snook, and lost a larger one. Third place was captured by Mark Wolaver and Caleb Esparza, who rounded up quite a few quality Seatrout and Snook on their own. Good luck out there, and enjoy the nice weather we’re having.
