Good morning everyone. The calmer conditions of the weekend led to some banner Spanish Mackerel fishing, both from shore and nearshore. Bluefish have also been prevalent, taking spoons and jigs well. Pompano fishing continues to be hit and miss, with the Fort Pierce area doing better than others. Offshore, there has been scattered Dolphin and Blackfin Tuna, and an occasional Sailfish, though the coming weather may make it tough to get out. Snook season opens up Monday morning, and the inlets will likely be busy, and there have been some Tarpon in Fort Pierce Inlet on outgoing tide. Inshore, Redfish continue to inhabit the shorelines, taking soft plastics, jigs, and flies. Seatrout have also been active along the drop offs, with live shrimp and soft plastics doing the bulk of the damage. Snook have been on the flats of late, but have predictably been a challenge, particularly the larger ones. The cooler temps coming our way should move some Pompano around in the river as well, so checking out the areas around the inlets, the Wabasso causeway, and the flats around The Moorings would be a good bet. Good luck out there.
