Good morning, offshore reports from yesterday were few and far between. The weather improved considerably yesterday and is better today. The fore cast for the next few days is much better and quite a few boaters are planning a trip to the corner today and in to the weekend. Along our coast the dominate catches have been scattered dolphin and a few kingfish in 55'-120'. There have been a few cobia reported south towards the St. Lucie inlet. The water was reported silted up along area beaches and anglers are still reporting a few spanish mackerel and bluefish on spoons and shiny lures like gotchas. Don't forget you can call Dave Maxwell for live bait most mornings in the inlet area (772) 519-2104.
Inshore, snook fishing improved slightly overnight. Snook have been taking live bait and jigs after sunset along the south side of the inlet and on the south jetty. Trout and redfish have been caught mostly north in the lagoon on soft plastics and copper colored spoons.
The captains meeting for the KING OF THE SOUTH TOURNAMENT will be held this Saturday at our shop facility at 1106 South U.S. #1 beginning at 5:00 p.m. This is new format for a tournament that lasts 45 days. You pick the days you want to fish from May 1st through June 14th.
Have a great day, Donald.
