Good morning, with calmer winds this morning a few boats boats have poked their noses out to see what they can find along our coastal waters. Yesterday winds kept boats in port. Reports from the week end indicated a scattered fishery in 55'-240' for dolphin, cobia and kingfish. Spanish mackerel are still in our coastal waters and can be caught on clark spoons and small gotchas.
Inshore, snook fishing has been good after sunset on the south jetty in Ft. Pierce on live bait and redtail hawk type jigs. Trout fishing across the lagoon has been good on live shrimp and soft plastics. Snapper fishing from the catwalk of the south bridge on live shrimp continues to be productive.
Don't forget to go to www.thekingofthesouth.com and find all the info for a new format for a kingfish tournament. The 45 day tournament that lets you fish on your schedule, beginning May 1ST through June 14TH.
Have a great day, Donald.
