Good morning, yesterday turned out to be a complete blow out for offshore anglers. Strong winds kept boats in port again yesterday, keeping anglers anxious for a shot at swordfish locally or tuna and wahoo over on the corner.
Inshore, the opening morning of snook season, did so with little fanfare. White's Tackle's own Kadri Benton reported catching 2 over the slot limit snook and quite a few bluefish after midnight on the south jetty. Vince Randolph caught 2 keeper snook trolling plugs near the draw of the north bridge last night. The catwalk of the south bridge has been providing land locked anglers with bluefish, sandperch and black margate. Trout fishing in the lagoon remains strong in deeper water areas. Live shrimp and jigs have been working well for the trout and we are still getting reports of pompano in the inlet and the turning basin.
Drop by our shop and have a look at the new Star Seagis inshore line of flats rods and their new Stellar Boat rods. We are very proud to have the areas largest selection of Costa Del Mar sunglasses in stock. Take a look through our new on-line store for all your fishing needs.
Have a great day, Donald.
