Good morning, the weather yesterday was not great for everyone who fishes the Treasure Coast. Those who did choose to poke their noses out of the Ft. Pierce were treated to some good sailfishing. Taylor Hansen fishing on the vessel Reliance, put the crew in the cockpit on sailfish and they managed to release 10. They also had some wahoo bites mixed in with plenty of bonito. The boat Chasin Tail also reported a catch and release of 4 sailfish yesterday. Bottom fishing has been good in 80' when the seas are a little calmer. You can find grouper, sea bass, amberjack and red snapper over the areas reefs.
Inshore, spanish mackerel and bluefish have moved into the inlet and the turning basin. Anglers are finding success with spoons, gotcha's and cut bait. Kadri Benton this morning reported that the inlet last night was full with tarpon busting up the mullet schools. Redfish are still north in the lagoon on the west side and snook fishing along the south side of the inlet has been good for some catch & release action.
Have a great day, Donald.
