Good morning,
We are starting to see some small numbers of sailfish pushing down the coast. There are still some dolphin around from the bar out to 200′ and there have been plenty of cobia in 60′ on the scattered reefs. The swordfishing has been great to our South with some boats hooking as many as 8 several nights. Hopefully we will start seeing some cooler weather and our winter fisheries will kick off.
The beach and inshore fishing has been fantastic. The mullet are coming down the beach and pushing in the inlet, and the snook, tarpon, big jacks, and sharks are getting with it. Fishing in the surf has been excellent as well and is giving anglers ample opportunity to catch big snook and even over-sized redfish on plugs. Up the river the trout fishing has been steady and we are still seeing some great schools of over-sized redfish.
Below are a youtube and Vimeo link to a snook fishing video on the beach we just did out of the Skull Island Skiff we built. Our molds are complete and we are building hull #2 and #3 as we speak.
