Good morning, the offshore scene has certainly changed around for the better the last couple days. Skip Lyshon taking a much needed rest from his busy schedule at the Maverick Boat Company reported a good few days offshore. Their crew had 6 for nine sailfish in 130′-150′ a few dolphin and lots of bonito. Skip said you had to get offshore a little to get away from the bonito. We heard reports of kingfish in 80′-120′ and plenty of bait on the beach and around the buoys. A couple reports of some decent dolphin action in 80′ on live sardines. Water conditions have returned to a more normal pattern and the water is very clear. Bottom fishing has been good for the reef dwellers and the divers have had good luck spear fishing.
Inshore, glass minnows have moved in to the beaches and are getting a working over by resident snook. Snook fishing has been good at the jetty and in the inlet on live bait and jigs. Trout fishing has been improving as our water get back to a more normal temperature and the snapper fishing continues to be good on live bait.
Have a great week end, Donald.
