Good morning, fishing offshore has been slow the last couple of days. Blame it on the ground swell generated by TS Bret or some chilly water temperatures here and there. There have been a few dolphin caught when you find a condition, a weed line or patch of weeds. Kingfish have been scarce over the reefs. Bottom fishing for snapper, sea bass and trigger fish has been decent. Water temperatures have fluctuated quite a bit the last few days and has been dirty. That condition seems to make to our area every year around mini lobster season, (July 27-28-2011).
Inshore, water temperatures are steamy, making it difficult to find any numbers of trout. You will want to get out early to beat those hot air temperatures as well. Snapper fishing around the bridges and a long the channel edges has been good and snook fishing in the inlet has been decent as well. There are tarpon south in the lagoon and are around the moorings in Vero Beach.
Don’t forget that we will have a crossbow demonstration starting at 9:00 a.m. this Saturday July 23rd in our archery department with Ten Point crossbow representative Matt Monks.
Have a great day, Donald.
