Good morning, the last couple of days have provided anglers with some great dolphin fishing. Not much was different yesterday some dolphin were rounded up in 130 feet of water on trolled ballyhoo. There are kingfish and every now and then somebody will report a cobia catch over the reefs. We have not heard much on the bottom fishing in last the couple of weeks. There is a tournament event out of the Ft. Pierce inlet today with plenty of boats entered. I didn’t get an actual count of boats, but will be able to provide some catch reports on Monday.
Inshore, nothing has changed in the lagoon in the last couple of days. There are plenty of snook and trout around terrorizing the flats right now, and as our weather is stable now I don’t expect that to change in the following week ahead. You can expect the snapper fishing to improve as we move into the summer months. Mangrove snapper will populate the channel edges of the inlet and the intra-coastal waterway, look to find them at the entrance of Harbor Branch. Live shrimp works well for the snapper and other small baits works as well.
Have a good weekend, Kadri.
