Good morning, wow what a weekend, Saturday turned out to be the day for dolphin fishing. Trey Smith and crew reported a catch of 10 dolphin to 25#. Capt. Moon Crossman aboard the charter boat Independence with angler Eric Childs in the pit reported 15 dolphin to 25#. Trey and Moon caught their fish in 150-200 feet of water on trolled bally-hoo. Rusty Varn and Kadri Benton reported a catch of 6 dolphin to 12# and 1 cobia at 40# on live bait. Karl Mullinax fishing on the boat Bait Washer out of Sebastian inlet had 11 dolphin to 21# in 280′ feet. The kingfishing here was not to good on Saturday, but off the coast of the Jupiter inlet there were plenty of fish to be found. Yesterday was a completely different day as a mild cold front pushed through we had a lot of wind all day, so nothing no report from yesterday.
Inshore, the trout fishing was good on Saturday, we received reports from around the power lines and the dock line along Indian River Drive. Some good catch and release action on snook can still be found in the inlet on live bait.
Have a great day, Donald.
