Good morning, offshore the reports from the last couple of days indicated a decent dolphin bite in 120 feet. Taylor Beckford reported a catch of 2 white marlin at Chub Cay, Bahamas yesterday. The marlin fishing at Chub has been real good this year, several local boats are there now and reporting great catches of both blue marlin and white marlin. Snapper fishing in the Keys has been good for both yellow tails and mangroves. Our snapper fishing was decent before the last blow and should be good now that the weather is settling down.
Inshore, yesterday afternoon the the jacks and spanish mackerel were thick in the inlet and blowing up the bait they were feeding on. We heard that the snook fishing from the catwalk has been heating up and trout fishing on the flats has been good in the early morning and late afternoon.
We are also getting some great reports from both local ponds and lakes and over in Okeechobee, that the spring bass fishing has been the best it has been in years. Spring time is always a great time in Florida for both saltwater and fresh species.
Tight lines, Donald.
