Good Afternoon! Fishing has had its ups and downs offshore. Cobia are the main focus right now, and they are here one day and gone the next. Two days ago i fished to the north along side the Last Mango and the LoQueSea. None of us were able to catch a cobia. For that matter none of us were even fortunate to even see a cobia. However yesterday a boat went to the 12A buoy and caught 3 cobia broke 2 off around the buoy and pulled off 2! In an HOUR! It just goes to show, fish have tails and where they are one day they can disappear the next!
The inshore fishing has been good! Scott had a charter yesterday and had caught some nice redfish and caught a number of small reds. Gulp seemed to be the bait of choice. Both the shrimp and the jerk shad rigged weedless on a weighted worm hook worked great. Scott’s friend Chris Yurgens has been catching several nice trout north of Vero. He was had regular success catching them on soft plastics and jerk baits as well.
Good Luck and take advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend!
