Good morning,
I hope everyone had a great New Years. The fishing was pretty good over the weekend. The sail fishing slowed down a bit yesterday but was still pretty consistent. Most boats caught a few yesterday but I didn’t hear of any big numbers posted up. There were plenty of nice dolphin caught, many were in the 20 pound class. There were some nice wahoos caught from 90-180 feet. A few of the wahoos were close to 50 pounds. Up until yesterday there were some big blackfins around. The Wild at Heart had 6 nice blackfins Friday, the heaviest went 35 pounds.
Inshore has still been good but not as great as late last week. There are still tons of redfish around although the big schools broke up. Instead of seeing 50 in a group they broke up in two twos and threes. Sometimes this makes them easier to catch so its not a bad thing. The trout fishing is still really hot. Many of the trout last week that were caught were in the 8 pound class. Pompano fishing on the beach was good over the weekend so they should push up in the river soon.
Have a great day!
