Good Morning, Sailfish are still the focus on the treasure coast this week. The Finest Kind Quickie tournament just wrapped up yesterday afternoon. The winner was a Ft. Pierce favorite, Glenn Cameron, fishing on a new boat. The Zues. Glenn’s new ride has lead him to two victories. The first back in St. Augustine at the El Pescado tournament and the second just yesterday in Stuart. Congratulations to the anglers and crew of the Zues!
The Zues finished the tournament with 19 releases over two days, second was the Boneshaker with 17 releases and the Cowpoke was third with 11 releases.
The fleet was spread out from the power plant on the south end to nearly Sebastian to the north. The report I got was that the big wahoos, bonitas and sails were caught in 165-225 feet of water and that the sails bite good on the offshore side of the inshore bar from 70-80 feet in the afternoon. The water was clean inshore and the sails were feeding on the bait that congregates there.
Good Luck and stay warm!
Geoff…
