Good morning, as the winds from hurricane Igor blow past us this week end, we can honestly say we have heard nothing from offshore. Hopefully conditions will improve next week.
Inshore, our fall snook season opened early Friday morning with little fan fare. There were some snook caught at the Ft. Pierce south jetty and in the inlet on jigs and live bait. There are tarpon, jacks and sharks feeding on the many mullet schools in the inlet as well and along our beaches. Last night conditions improved for snook fishermen as plenty of snook were caught in the inlet on jigs. The inlet at Sebastian has been red hot for redfish, snook and tarpon. Jigs and live bait have been providing anglers with some great catches. Some anglers were complaining that they couldn’t get their jigs through the tarpon to get at the snook.
Archery season opened this morning north of SR-70 our bow shop is very busy, be sure to stop by and see some new products in our ever expanding archery shop.
White’s Tackle Inshore Classic Tournament will be held this year on October 9TH. Always a great event, be sure to get in on the fun.
Have a great week end, Donald.
